Obituary

Carolyn Ruffin Mingo, 72, wife, mother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on January 28, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas, to Clarence "Chickadee" and Easter Elizabeth Ruffin. She was a 1964 graduate of Charlton Pollard High School.

She married Charlie Mingo, Sr. on September 24, 1966. They pledged their love for each other that lasted over 50 years. Carolyn will be forever remembered by her husband, Charlie, her children, Priscilla Davis (Henry), Charlie Mingo, Jr., and Reva Ruffin, all of Beaumont, Texas, and Kathy Lillie of Cleveland, Texas; grandchildren, Oriel Davis and Jordan Lowe both of Beaumont, Texas; brothers, Clarence Ruffin (Julia), George Ruffin, Austin Ruffin (Paris), and Howard Ruffin all of California; sisters, Mary E. Ruffin of California, Dovie V. Ruffin Flanagan (Lonnie) and Eleen Ruffin both of Beaumont, Texas; aunt, Florence "Bobbie" Seastrunk of Beaumont, Texas; sister-in-law, Wilburean H. Benard of Beaumont, Texas; brother-in-law, Johnny J. Howard of Beaumont, Texas; Godson, Reginald Howard of Houston, Texas.

Special thanks to close friends of the family during this time of bereavement, Michael Ford; her best friends Della Holmes and Joe & Ivory Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Family, friends, and others, whose lives Carolyn (Sister) touched are invited to the House of Prayer Baptist Church, 3350 Washington Blvd., Beaumont, Texas 77705 for a Visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2018, to reminisce, grieve and to support each other.

Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff.
