Charles E. Styles, Jr., was born on August 30, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, to the union of Charles and Marie Purnell.
He resided in Dallas, Texas for 16 years and in Beaumont, Texas for 60 years.
He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Dallas, TX, he received a BA Degree from Huston-Tillotson University, and an MA Degree from Prairie View A & M University. He was a member of McCabe Roberts Avenue United Methodist Church, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and the Appomattox Club.
He departed this life on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., at McCabe Roberts Avenue United Methodist Church, 1205 Roberts Street, Beaumont, TX 77701, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at the church. Entombment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Park Mausoleum, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff.
His love and memories will remain in the heart of his wife, Be Etta Hardy Styles; brothers, Cornelius Purnell, Richard Purnell, and George Purnell all of Chicago, IL; sister, Dorothy McClure of Chicago, IL; nieces, Ceillia Moore, Janet McClure, Regina McClure, Susan McClure, Imogene E. McClure, Anita McClure, and Stephanie Williams all of Chicago, IL; nephews, David Williams and Anthony Hassell both of Chicago, IL; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
