CLIFTON R. DOUGLAS RANDALL passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at her home in Beaumont, Texas. She was 92 years old.
Clifton was born in Hillsboro, Texas, February 4, 1926. She was the only child born to Jewel Williams Polk. She spent her childhood in Anderson and Kilgore Texas. She was a star basketball player in both high school and college.
She met and married Arthur "Coach" Randall August 4, 1947 and never remarried after his death in 1991.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. The family moved to Beaumont, Texas in 1957. In 1962, after having four beautiful girls she decided to go to work outside the home and started her teaching career at Martin Elementary, teaching third grade. Her entire tenure was spent at Martin where she touched the lives of hundreds of youth until her retirement in 1986. Her favorite past-time seemed to be raising her four girls, but as they left home she enjoyed creating ceramics at the Best Years Center. She became a member of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in 1976, making her a member for over forty years. She was active in the Mission and the Choir and loved attending Sunday School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Coach" Randall and her mother, Jewel Polk and is survived by her four "July Daughters", Zenobia Randall Bush and Carol Randall Guillory, both of Beaumont, Deborah Randall LaDay and Audrey Randall Thomas (Justin) both of Houston; eleven grandchildren, Jama, Fredrick, D'Juana, Byron, Crystal, Vanessa and J.C. all of Beaumont, Faheem, Charles, Shani and Justin Jr. all of Houston; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
Viewing of the body will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church, 1090 Buford Street, Beaumont, Texas with the funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas.
