Deborah Ann Shedrick, 68, of Beaumont, Texas, died on Sunday, January 22, 2023.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
Deborah was born on February 27, 1954, in Port Arthur, Texas to Virginia Walker Shedrick and Murray Shedrick.
She attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas, graduating in 1972. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Nursing, from Lamar University as well as a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a master's degree in Psychology from Purdue University Global. Deborah then went on to work at Spindletop MHMR for 30 + years as the Special Needs Offender Program Manager.
From childhood, Deborah was known to be a caring and loving spirit. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making everyone she encountered feel loved and cared for. She loved helping people and it showed in the Godly way that she lived her life. The pride and joys of her life was her family, her friends, her volunteer work on the Welcoming Committee at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and the Beaumont Breakfast Lions Club, where she served as Vice President and Membership Chair. While volunteering with the Lion's Club, Deborah helped organize and attend the annual Workday at the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas, as well as assisting in organizing the Strides Walk and Car Show for Diabetes. She was also instrumental in various Lion's programs such as White Cane Days, Annual Bowling Tournament, and the Beaumont Mardi Gras Parade.
Deborah was proceeded in death by her parents, Murray and Virginia Shedrick as well as her daughter, Yolanda Ramsey.
Deborah is survived by her daughters, Krishana Ramsey, Veronica Redmon (Donald), and son, Jimmy Ramsey Jr; Grandchildren, Kory Putmon Jr, Avery Redmon, Aubree Gibson, Kaleb Harrison, and Cade Redmon; Loving sister/cousin, Lois Petry, best friend Carolyn Jones, and a host of other very dear cousins, friends, co-workers and extended family.
