A beautiful soul has left this world. Gladys Marie Washington Bernard , 97, of Cypress, Texas, formerly of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The family deeply appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

A celebration of Gladys' life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, with arrangements entrusted to the compassionate care of Calvary Mortuary Staff.

A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The Rosary will begin at 12:15 PM.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Calvary Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, to share memories and offer condolences.

Gladys' love and memories will remain in the hearts of her sons, Al V. Bernard (Evelyn) and Lawrence J. Bernard; daughters, Paulette A. Moore (Edward) and Maureen D. Bernard (Karen); and her nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
