Goldie Kirkland Rideau, 80, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She transitioned from earth to heaven surrounded by family at the home of her loving niece.

Goldie was born August 6, 1942, to the late Aline Celestine Sylvester McDowell in Franklin, Louisiana. Goldie loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment she shared with them and was always there when needed. Goldie was a woman who emphatically believed in the word of God. The most vital principle she undoubtedly stood on was "I Can do All Things through Christ which strengthens me." Her love for God started as a young girl, and she attended Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas.

Goldie was preceded in death by her mother, Aline Celestine Sylvester McDowell, brother Wilson Johnson, and longtime friend Wilson Larkins Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Michael K. Redeau of Florida; niece, Valerie F. Thomas; nephew, Gregory Johnson; great-nephew, Kristopher Johnson Sr.; great-niece, Nancy Smith; (3) great-great nephews, and (1) great-great niece all of Beaumont, TX. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and other relatives and her closest friend Ms. Geneva Maneaux.
