John Poullard, Jr.'s Obituary
John Poullard Jr, 83, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
John was born on March 25, 1935 to John and Dorcena Poullard, Sr. in Eunice, Louisiana.
He married his beautiful wife of 62 years, Julia Fontenot in 1958 and raised three sons. John served in the U.S. Army, 4th Armored Division, from 1956 to 1962.
In 1962, John began his lifetime career in mechanics. He worked at DuPont Chemical for 25 years. He was later employed by Beaumont Independent School District as a Bus Driver and Eastex Farm and Home. Apart from his work life, John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go horseback riding, woodworking, and tinkering with mechanical devices whenever he had the time. John especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Julia; three sons, Michael (Joyce) Poulard, Sr., Brian (Denise) Poulard, Jonathan (Kim) Poulard; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers and five sisters; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his beloved grandchildren Tyeshia Poulard and Colin Poulard; his parents, John and Dorcena Poullard, Sr.; brother, Daniel Poullard, and sister, Grace Broussard.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at 11:00 am with Fr. Antony Paulose, C.M.I. officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A Rosary will be said from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, and Entombment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Park.
