Marlon Dewayne Sims , 43, beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend passed on to eternity on Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was born on January 2, 1978 in Houston, Texas to the late Thelma Joyce Jordon and Dan Sims, Sr.  Marlon was a 1996 graduate from Central Senior High in Beaumont and obtained his Associates degree from Lamar Institute of Technology in 2002 in Process Operating Technology.  Marlon worked for Dragon Products as a forklift operator prior to his illness.

Marlon, an avid sports enthusiast, was an incredibly determined person with an outspoken and personable personality. He lived life by his own rules but full of love and passion for his family.  He left a deep impression and made a mark in our hearts that cannot be erased.

Marlon's love and memories will remain in the hearts of his father, Dan Sims, Sr., his brother, Dan Sims, Jr. (Melanie) of Pflugerville, TX; his sisters, Sonya Akers (Horace) of Humble, TX, Marquitia  Marie Jordon and Janna Renee' Jordon of Houston, TX, Uncles, Larry Jordon and Lionel Sims, Jr. (Rita) both of Houston and Anthony Rubit; aunt, Ava Hamilton (Benjamin, Sr.) and great-aunts Patricia Powell Frank and Jeanette Holt-Frank of Houston; Nieces, Joredyn Lewis, Hailey Akers, Hilary Akers and Camille Sims; Nephews, Ian Sims, Blake Sims, and Dillan Sims; Great nephew, Ahmir Allie. Bonus Mama, Mary Scott Young (Patrick, Sr.), bonus grandma, Mrs. Ida M. Scott, his Scott Family aunts and uncles, host of cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 3920 W. Cardinal Drive, Beaumont, TX 77705.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Social distancing will be observed and face masks are required
