The Celebration of Life for Norma Melancon Pierce, 94, of Orange, will be Saturday, December 6, at 11:00 A.M. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Orange, TX. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at the church. Rites of Christian Burial will follow in Hollywood Community Cemetery. Calvary Mortuary in Beaumont, TX has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Julius "Shorty" Melancon and Ollie "Dear" Melancon; brother, Julius "Boobie" Melancon; sister, Ollie "Lucy" Riggs; grandson, Jesse A. Tate III; husbands, Jesse A. Tate, Sr. and Roosevelt Pierce.
Norma is survived by her son, Rev. Jesse A. Tate, Jr. (Dorothy) of Oceanside, CA; daughter, Lois Riggs Lewis of Beaumont, TX; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to graciously thank the staff at Summer Place Nursing Home in Beaumont, TX, for the loving care given to Norma during her last years.
