Rosanell Catherine Jones Merrick Wyatt, 70, of Beaumont, TX, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital.
Rosanell was born June 7, 1942. She graduated from Huston Tilotson College in 1965, where she obtained her Masters in Biology. She moved to Dallas, working at Job Corps and then as a teacher of science in the Garland Independent School District. She also obtained her Masters in Special Education. After moving back to Beaumont, she served as substitute teacher in the Beaumont Independent School District and was as active as she could be with her church, acting as a member of the Missionary Society.
Rosanell will be greatly missed by her son, Jackie Hodari Merrick; daughter-in-law, Kristen Joanne Merrick; sisters, Mary Phillips and Minnie Pearl Lomax (Robert); two grandchildren, Ashley Rose Merrick and Robert Michael Hicks; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Douglas Memorial C.M.E. Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, at the church, followed by interment at Pear Orchard Cemetery, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary.
