Ruth E. Patten, 62, of Beaumont, Texas, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 2, 2012.
She was born on May 6, 1950, in Beaumont, Texas to Robert and Nancy Patten. She was a lifelong resident of Beaumont, TX.
Ruth graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in 1968; upon graduating high school, she attended Lincoln Business College. She then accepted at Mobil Federal Credit Union where she remained employed for over 40 years and held many positions; employees and customers enjoyed working with her and many asked for her personally whether just to see her smiling face, receive a kind word, or just to share a laugh. Ruth was one of God's many helpers; she sought much joy in giving, helping, and taking care of others. Whenever you met someone who knew Ruth, they would smile and say, "yeah I know Ruth, she is such a sweet person," and she was.
She had many devoted friends, enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories; brother, Carl Patten, Sr. of Port Arthur, Texas; sister, Dolphus Johnson of Oakland, California; nieces, Cassandra Patten of Arlington, Texas, Michelle LaPoint (Tony) of Port Arthur, Texas, and Christen Dorsey of Houston, Texas; nephews, Kenneth Patten of Grand Prairie, Texas, Robert Patten of Carrolton, Texas, Rodney Patten (LaQuitia) of McKinney, Texas, Carl Patten, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; Gary Patten of Beaumont, Texas; and Chase Patten of Port Arthur, Texas; and loving sister-in-law, Renee Patten-Granger; and a host of great nieces, nephews, one great-great niece, cousins and devoted friends.
