Samuel Earl Preston, Sr., 94, of Orange, Texas, departed this life on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Samuel Earl Preston, Sr., Skuut, was born on January 25, 1932, in Four Corners, Louisiana, to Lillie Provost Preston and Richard Preston.

As a child, he was raised in Jeanerette, Louisiana, where he was known for being a dedicated student and a hardworking individual. Samuel E. Preston was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he faithfully worshipped and remained committed to his faith throughout his life.

He loved traveling to visit friends and family, spending quiet evenings reading, working on cars, and above all, caring for his babies, his lawnmowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Provost Preston and Richard Preston, his beloved wife, Willie Ann (Peck) Preston, his son, M.C. Johnson (Pat), and his Honorary son, Russell January.

He is survived by his children, Joyce Joubert (Joshua ) of Beaumont, TX, Lillie January of Beaumont, TX, Drusilla Anderson (Alvin) of Orange, TX, Barbara Brown (Clyde) of Missouri City, TX, Delores Warnell (Antonio) of Leander, TX, Janice Smith (Robert) of Orange, TX, Samuel Preston Jr, Kimberly Preston (Talvin) both of Orange, TX, and Honorary son Joseph Roberson of Orange, TX. His siblings Judy Preston, Stella Jordan, Shirley Brooks, Frances Lincoln, Ruth Chappell; along with a host of friends, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
