Obituary

Willard "Straw" Guillory, Sr., 79, of Beaumont, TX, departed this life on Monday, July 9, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at Douglas Memorial C.M.E. Church, on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. with burial at Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff.
Willard Guillory, Sr., fondly known as Straw, was born on February 21, 1939, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to Carlton and Celestine Guillory. He was the third of three children born to their union. He and his family moved to Beaumont, Texas at an early age where he met and married the love of his life, Mae Helen Hadnot. Although they were divorced, they maintained a great friendship. To their union, they were blessed with five beautiful children, Toni Guillory-Bell, Cheryl Guillory, Twana Guillory-Stewart, Pamela Guillory, and Willard Guillory, Jr. Willard was self-employed for many years and was the owner of Guillory's Construction Company. His work spoke volumes of his skills and abilities. With little formal education, there was not much that he could not do. He loved people and seldom met a stranger.

Willard was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He was a God-fearing believer and prayed faithfully. His memories will be cherished by all who knew him. Included in this memory are his other children, Reginald Keller, Ronald Segura, David Wilson, Larry Stoker, Leonard Guillory, Desmond Mitchell, Michael Nobles, Jamal McCain, Betty Sue Lane (Ricky), Sharlene Guillory, and Jeanette Segura; special niece, Barbara Guillory-Semien; grandchildren, LeKesha Washington (Leon), Joshua Frank (Isis), Whitney Guillory-Herring (Joshua), Deon Brown (Semone), Christopher Mouton, Naelah Villery, Lauren Guillory, Sydney Guillory, and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; sisters, Dora Dean Guillory-Dumas, and Juanita Guillory; and two sons, Tyrone Stoker and Carlos McMahon.
